BioKem Oil Services can blend lube oils for viscosity correction that have an impaired viscosity, or for applications where a different viscosity is required.

  • Oil normally comes in standardised grades, with lower viscosity grades being commonly 15, 32, 46, and 68 centistokes.
  • Occasionally, a particular application for a rotational asset may require a viscosity that is ‘in-between’ these grades due to the environment or asset design.
  • When this occurs, BioKem Oil Services works with the lubricant supplier to blend and modify the viscosity, prior to it being forwarded to the site as a certified clean lubricant and within the viscosity specifications.
  • BioKem can also adjust the viscosity of a current in service fluid that has fallen outside of allowable lower and upper limits.
  • This reduces the requirement, and added costs, to dispose of lubricants that are otherwise serviceable and within specifications, however, are not within the specified viscosity range.
